Top 5 Eco Work Habits

5 Minutes

Number 1 - Litter Picking

Log on to keepbritaintidy.org and join one of their schemes (you can download lots of material to help promote your litter pick) or go DIY with a set of litter pickers and a team rota.

Number 2 - Food Containers

Encourage your office canteen to provide meals in recyclable food containers so anything not eaten can be packaged up and taken home to eat later.

Number 3 - Flexible Hours

Having a flexible work policy means you can allocate no-car WFH days and when you are office-based you can commute at off-peak times (meaning less sitting around in queues of traffic, pumping emmissions into the atmosphere) or tie your work hours into available public transport.

Number 4 - Zoned Controls

If you are running a hybrid work model which means there is never a full office, consider lighting/heating only the areas where staff are located.  You can switch up your office layout to make this more effective, occasional meeting areas at one end that can be lit as and when needed and desking at the other, where heat and light are available all day.

Number 5 - Car Sharing

See our blog on car clubs for inspiration but if ditching the car completely is a step too far (right now) then consider a ride share rota or look into hiring an electronic mini bus to collect/drop off staff in the local area.
